I tear down and critique this Amazon Affiliate Site. A niche website example. The Site Stats: Site Name: bestreviews.com Founded: Jan 2003 Keyword ranking in the top 100: 168,715 (other sites of the same caliber will have a lot more keywords ranking. This tells us that they’re not great regarding SEO) Number of estimated visitors: SEMrush: 108,000 SimilarWeb: 3,500,000 Domain Authority: 52 Trust Flow: 21 Number of indexed pages: About 337 results Avg time on site: (SimilarWeb 00.00.56) Pageviews per visitor: (SimilarWeb 1.7) Bounce Rate: (SimilarWeb 62.55%) ---------- Learn the 7 Step process for building an Amazon Affiliate Site: http://nichesiteproject.com/amazon-affiliate-sites-niche-site-process/ See examples of real profitable Amazon Authority Sites: http://nichesiteproject.com/amazon-affiliate-sites-examples/ Get 15,000 Keywords for Profitable Affiliate Sites: http://nichesiteproject.com/youtubekeywords ------- Overview and Traffic Traffic is estimated to be around 108K to 3.5M per month. It's expected that traffic will be on the high end of that estimate because they run a large amount of Google Ads. Looking at the traffic graph on SEMrush you can see that the traffic has been steadily increasing over time without any major issues. This means that the site is “playing by the rules” of Google and is likely to last the test of time. Design Of The Site: Homepage: The main area has a slider with a static search button. Usually, a slider doesn't convert as well. But seeing as this site also has a static search button it likely works well. The logo is simple and easy to read. Scrolling down further it shows each category of the site. The site has a lot of categories with each one having the ability to be a stand alone site. So if you’re looking for a place to get keyword ideas, then this site is a great place to start. They’ve done all the hard work for you. About Page: They have some “about us” information on the main page. Scrolling down shows you “how they do it” as well. This site actually buys all the products that they review. This provides great credibility and can earn lots of trust from the reader. On the main “about us” page it goes into more detail showing images and videos of them actually using the products. It also shows the huge amount staff that are hired to create this website. A significant number of staff tells us they’re making a lot of money! Finally, they have a nice social proof section that shows where else they’ve been working. Reviews: A key aspect that they focus on is that they don’t get any of their products for free. This enables them to give an objective review of the product. You’ll notice that they have no text above the fold. They simply jump straight to the review table. In the table, they have just five items to stop the reader suffering from decision fatigue. The table is custom made, and each column is a link over to Amazon. Scrolling down you’ll see who reviewed the products and then the features of each model. There’s a decent amount of words on the page but not as many as I would have expected. This may be because they focus more on the imagery than the words. Overall the website is excellent and could be considered one of the best in class.
