As the wildfires continue to burn in California, a local group is stepping up to help out during a disaster.

KMBC's Jere Gish talked with workers at Heart to Heart International who are readying supplies to send to fire victims.

Heart to Heart, which is based in Olathe, already has people on the ground in California. On Thursday, the first shipment of supplies left Kansas City on its way to San Diego.
