Matt Lauer is reportedly huddling with his lawyers to see if he can land a golden parachute of about $30 million from NBC.

Matt Lauer may have been fired from his position at NBC… but he’s still going after the money.

According to reports the newsman and his lawyers are working on landing the shamed anchor a $30 million golden parachute.  Apparently they’re looking at his contract and determining whether the claims against him, which clearly would affect any moral clause he has in the contract, would cut off his contractual rights to be paid through to the end of his contract… this according to Page Six.

Matt was originally contracted to stay on air through the end of 2018 – a deal worth $20 million.  

The only thing is that moral clause… which often states that talent can be fired without pay if they bring the company any disrepute.

A rep for Lauer did not comment on the report and his personal attorney did not return calls when contacted by publication.

Can’t blame Lauer for going after the money… you may have just seen the last of him on TV.
