This fight took me many, _many_ attempts the first time I played this game (as my Twitch viewers can probably confirm!).

Winning this fight the first time was exhilarating, but I also felt a distinct sobriety alongside the rush of my victory.  The fight with the Abyss Watchers was one of my favorite fights across all three Dark Souls games, and after so many attempts, it was finally over, meaning I could progress through the game again, but I could no longer fight these honorable and skillful foes again without either dropping my summon sign (which just would not be the same), or starting the game over and reaching this point again.  

This fight was over.

From the very instant I finished this boss fight the first time around I have looked forward to my second chance at fighting them.  Another round with one of my favorite boss encounters.

And now, I'm playing through Dark Souls 3 for the second time, and I got my second chance at facing the Abyss Watchers again.

For this fight, I did not expect the epic encounter I had with them the first time.  I realized I was much better this time around than I was when I first started playing Dark Souls 3, and set my expectations appropriately.

The Abyss Watchers, the second time around, did not disappoint in the slightest.  The fight played out as I had hoped.  :)

And, I look forward to my third chance at facing them again, solo, sometime in the future.  :)
