Sly and the Family Stone was formed in 1967, in San Francisco. The original band members were brothers Sly and Freddie Stone, trumpeter Cynthia Robinson, drummer Gregg Errico, saxophonist Jerry Martini, and bassist Larry Graham. Sly and Freddie's sister, singer/keyboardist Rose Stone, joined within a year.

Sing A Simple Song is from the 1968 album "STAND!" and was the b-side to their #1 hit "Everyday People"
