Video capture to share with others of Pileated Woodpecker using it's long tongue to extract insects. It is my goal to video capture any wildlife I come across since so many birds and fish, sealife have died over the last year. A bit of info on the Pileated Woodpecker: Habitats - Forests, urban areas, parks, golf courses, river corridors, & dead trees. Food - Carpenter ants, beetle larvae, fruits & nuts. Territory- they declare their territory by striking their beaks on trees at approximately 17 strikes per second creating holes & cavaties which other wildlife uses as well. Roosting - alone in holes in trees & usually more than one hole for protection against predators. Mating- Woodpeckers have one mate for life. Currently, this bird species is stable (not endangered). *The first time I saw a woodpecker was at age 12 and they intrigue me to this day. Thanks for watching :) Video filmed by YouTuber ln4359
