BC Rivers Day 2003 in Chilliwack

After its formation in 2002, the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Coalition had its second annual BC Rivers Day at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve on September 28th, 2003. During this event, over a hundred volunteers spent several hours cleaning up the trails and banks of the Chilliwack River. The cleanup was then followed by a salmon BBQ and various entertainment. On this day, CVRCC also announced its partnership with the City of Chilliwack on the Adopt-a-River program. The program has since expanded to include the Fraser Valley Regional District.
