Food Safety and Standards Authority of India in its affidavit filed before High Court has contended that there is formalin inherent in ocean fish but according to their experts the quantity of formalin is much lesser than the quantity stated by Goa government and Goa FDA. But, the High Court is not satisfied with the affidavit of the FSSAI as FSSAI could not specifically reply about the issues lingering in Goa about Formalin in Fish. FSSAI contended that the questions regarding Formalin in Fish has been assigned to expert scientific panel to research and it requires some time for the report. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on Monday filed its affidavit before the High Court in the 3 clubbed petitions related with Formalin in Fish issue. FSSAI in its affidavit contended that there is formalin inherent in ocean fish but according to their experts the quantity of formalin is much lesser than the quantity stated by Goa government and Goa FDA.
