MARIEMONT, Ohio (WKRC) - Police shut down Wooster Pike (U.S. 50) in Mariemont after a motorcyclist died in a crash while trying to elude a state trooper early Wednesday.

Police say 23-year-old Trevor A. Hughes of Hamilton was speeding eastbound on Wooster just before 1 a.m. when he ran off the right side of the road and overturned. He was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

The trooper didn't pursue Hughes due to him reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour.

Hughes was wearing a helmet. It's unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor.

The road was closed for hours between Indian View and Petoskey while police investigated and cleared the scene.
