‘Tao Hua Yuan: A Lost Village Utopia’ is the highlight of this year’s Beyond Limits monumental sculpture exhibition at Chatsworth. Simon Stock introduces the work, by Chinese artist Xu Bing, which comprises a multi-media explosion of natural rock formations, ceramics and exotic plants, and is inspired by a 5th-century fable recounting the astonishing discovery of a hidden utopian valley.
