The objective was to model, texture, rig and animate a 3D character. Thought I'd spice things up by making it a live-action bit while also testing out filming in a low light environment. Captured an HDRI probe on location and utilized image based lighting to match the cg to the live action. Used 3D camera mapping for environments in the mech zoom and pan shots to synthetically generate the camera movement.
