This is my second test using the Canon T4i (650D) autofocus. This time, instead of letting the camera follow my face, I restricted the focus area to a specific spot, around my eyes. In this test, I am using the new 40mm f/2.8 lens, set at f/2.8 with 1/60th second shutter, and an ISO of 800.

Also, to eliminate the sound heard from the auto-focus, I am using a Zoom H4n, with a Shure wired lavalier microphone.

In my opinion, the auto-focus is still not quite right, mainly because it tends to re-focus too often. Since I was seated in the same place, there was no reason for the camera to re-focus, except when I moved. On the plus side, it did re-focus when I moved, which is the reason I bought this camera, but I would love to have some kind of feature to lock it and tell it to refocus whenever I make a drastic move, or when I hit a button. I especially need auto-focus when I film myself, because nobody can do it for me, but once I'm on my mark, it would be great to trigger a button to stop it from re-trying.
