As Israeli and Palestinian delegations are slated to return to Cairo this morning to continue cease-fire negotiations, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Hamas against making the wrong decision.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting, in an apparent response to Hamas' threats to engage Israel in a long war if its demands are not met, Netanyahu stressed that the Israeli delegation to the talks in Cairo is working under quote “very clear directives” to stand firm on Israel's security demands. 
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas says there is no alternative to the Egyptian initiative for a long-term truce between Israel and Hamas.
During a meeting with Palestinian leaders on Saturday evening in Ramallah, the PA chief said in his opening remarks quote- "We will not accept any other party to take Egypt's place."
The Palestinian delegation was slated to return to Cairo to renew talks this morning, though members of the negotiating team have expressed pessimism that any progress could be made as things currently stand.
Abbas said that the PA leadership's goal was to halt the fighting between Israel and Hamas which has embroiled the Gaza Strip for the past five weeks.

Thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday night to urge the prime minister to resume the peace process.
Against the backdrop of the Tel Aviv Municipality building, lit up as an enormous Israeli flag, people carried signs reading, “Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies,” and “When there is no peace, war comes.”
Organisers estimated the turnout at some 10,000 people, but Israeli media estimated the crowd simply as “thousands.”

Israel's Lior Sofer won the men's 8th Cable Wakeboard World Championships held in Norway on Saturday.
The competition brought together around 200 riders from 25 countries. In the men's competition Sofer crashed on his first run, but on his second scored 94.33 points, ousting Korea's San Im from the top of the leaderboard.
