When I was growing up in a country-setting-turned suburb of Dayton, Ohio, we rented a large field for our ponies that we called the "Eighty Acres". We sold our last pony when the land was purchased for development. This vid is a drive down the main boulevard of that development in 2008. The area has become a complex of parks, an entertainment pavilion, offices, condos, and much more. The vid is called "Then and Now" because I've interspersed old photos of my family, our horses, and the land before development into how it looks today. The old creek became the pond in today's park. In the 1940's and 50's, my parents would always hire a photographer to take a family portrait of us for our Christmas greeting cards. Some of them are shown in this vid. Enjoy, and apologies there are a few glitches herein...after long hours of work and a problematic Vegas editing program as well as computer (btw, I edit on a screen area no wider than @ 6" lol), I hesitatingly decided to post as is..to barely make it before the clock strikes 12 and Christmas, 2009, has come to an end. :) Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Everday...whatever it is you choose to celebrate! The last footage of draft horses, as well as the audio track is from a 2008 outdoor Christmas celebration in Mariemont, Ohio (you'll find 2 vids of that posted on my channel)
