California police officer Ronil Singh, 33 (right, at top), was making a traffic stop early in the morning on Wednesday when he was fatally shot by a suspect who has been found to be in the US illegally. Singh had pulled over a gray pickup truck (left) in Newman, a small town 100 miles south of San Francisco, after noticing it had no license plate, as part of a DUI investigation. The vehicle, believed to have been the one stopped by Singh, was found in a garage in a mobile home park about 4 miles (6 kilometers) hours after the shooting and investigators are now examining it for evidence. Police released CCTV of the unnamed suspect (right, at bottom) who remains at large.
