Stories have recently started to emerge from various countries of child abuse by church authorities during the 1950s and 60s.   Victims didnt come forward because they were frightened, ashamed and thought they wouldnt be believed.   In Germany, beatings, psychological cruelty and physical abuse were endemic and many still suffer the effects.
