Amazing women rescuers that have devoted their lives to saving dogs

I could say that these women are my role models, but I could never be like them. Very few people could actually do what they do. Rescuing in Greece is hard work. With millions of strays around and absolutely no help from any official channels, dog rescue is hardcore here. Picking those dogs from the streets, with all their medical and behavioral issues, treating them, training them, placing them among the 50, 70, 200 more dogs you are already caring for, cleaning up (trust me it gets very dirty), feeding them, spending time with them, promoting them and rehoming them is a full time job. A dirty, tiring, overwhelming job. Those women are hardened, tough and bold. You can see it in their faces, their rough hands, their worn out clothes and their attitudes. So no, they are not my role models, they're more like goddesses maybe, definitely above anyone I have ever met. And since they are goddessed, that makes me like a prophet I guess.
