99.9% Polio Eradication In T&T

The Rotary Club is celebrating 99.9% eradication of polio. Medical Consultant Dr. Rajiv Naggassar gave the good news on exactly where the world is today. He says because polio’s only reservoir is in humans it’s easy to eradicate from the global landscape. Dr. Naggassar says there is a plan to get rid of the disease completely. There have been no cases of Polio in Trinidad and Tobago since 1980 but Dr. Naggassar says even if it is eradicated, vaccination will not stop, but a new approach will be devised.
