Sir Henry Wood was an inveterate transcriber of piano works and his orchestration of Rachmaninov's most famous Prelude dates from 1913. The splendid recording heard here was made by the London Philharmonic conducted by Nicholas Braithwaite. (From a 'Lyrita' CD with all due acknowledgements.)
