Handicraft Centers Generate Employment In Srinagar

From past few years, numbers of Non Government Organizations (NGOs) are running some institutes which are helping youths in earning their livelihood. One such handicraft centre, which is situated in Budgam district, is generating employment to scores of Kashmiris, both men and women, who earn their livelihood by making shawls of different designs at this handicrafts center. As Kashmir handicrafts are famous all over the world due to its uniqueness, its demand is also rising in India as well as abroad. Some of these artists are educated but still they prefer learning the weaving skill rather than applying for government jobs. The incharge of this handicrafts centre, who himself is an artist said that he is not only earning his livelihood from these handcrafts but also helping others in proving employment to them. http://www.patrika.com
