Here's Part Eleven along with more information.Metroid on the NES was a game of many firsts. For starters, the setting is set in a planet far from Earth with the whole world being one large underground map and has a feeling of loneliness showing that you really were alone. The map of Metroid is huge and covers multiple areas such as Brinstar, Norfair as well as the lairs of both Kraid and Ridley along with Mother Brain's fortress of Tourian. Before, players would have to write a map in hopes of knowing where to go and what to do. In most cases, you can get lost and really not know what to do. Another unique thing about it is the protagonist named Samus Aran. At first you thought its someone shrouded in mystery armored up with a laser cannon ready to kick ass but when you beat the game... it blows your mind to find that this person you were playing as... was a girl. It literally blew the norm making Samus Aran the first female video game heroine and making room for other female heroes like Chun Li, Lara Croft, Mai Shiranui and others to play with the big boys.
