Philadelphia Zoo Elephants Fascinated Boy

We won't be seeing elephants, or hearing exclamations like "Elephants are my FAVORITE animal!" at the Philadelphia Zoo again, at least for a few years. The last two remaining elephants, Bette and Kallie were moved to the Pittsburgh Zoo's International Conservation Center July 8, 2009. The International Conservation Center is not a sanctuary. The elephants at the Center receive the same kind of excellent care that elephants in all U.S. zoos receive, with a daily routine of feeding and care they can be accustomed to and rely on. I do hope elephants return to the Philadelphia Zoo soon. I miss seeing them and so do a lot of other visitors.
