Yes, there are a lot of assholes in the world and some of them do happen to be atheist. Chris looks at the Big Bang and Evolution and says hmmm that must be how God did it? I look at the same things and say, I don't see how there could be a God. It's my perception on the world around me and it's an appeal to emotion in that my emotions play a role in it as well. Is he crazy or wrong for what he believes? No of course not he is entitled to believe and feel as he pleases. These claims that Theist often make about Atheism really are bugging at times because all Atheism means is that we do not believe in a god of any kind. When you start making claims outside of that statement it's going to vary from Atheist to Atheist. As to your question about Christian Scientist, Science is not in the business of proving or disproving god. It's job is to prove things that can be observed and proven by factual evidence, and also is REVIEWED by other scientist. Also because Christianity is the major religion here in America.
