Exclusive footage from the Sangat TV team recorded on Sun 1 July 2012 at Sunrise in Sparkhill event in Birmingham.  

The event celebrated Interfaith and Community cohesion and was attended by many people very early in the morning.  It included music, arts and breakfast presented by different faiths and cultures who celebrated as many people of one city.  

Sikhs from the Guru Nanak Gurdwara on Stratford Road served vegetarian food as part of the tradition of 'langar' and the Birmingham Faith Leaders Group also joined the celebrations to make a 'commitment' from their various faith traditions.  

Attendees had the opportunity to see a specially created mural by Mohammed Ali (Soul City Arts) and hear a special performance of the 'Song for Birmingham' by the Conservatoire Folk Ensemble and choirs. People from different faiths led prayers from their own traditions during the morning giving people a chance to observe the rich a variety of faiths in Birmingham.  

This show is presented by Inder Singh, we are sure that you will enjoy his interviews with local councillors, Gurdwara representatives and local people.  The event was a true celebration of the spirit of faith and friendship.  
 
In closing, the Olympics have a very similar message to the one of good health and healthy living and Oneness given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji to the whole of humanity.  Sikhs celebrate their annual games at the Holla Mohella Smagam in Anandpur Sahib, this is the largest annual gathering of Sikhs in one place and is visited by over a million Sikhs.
