As we have entered the world of the 4th industrial revolution, innovation and creativity is flourishing. At the same time, the mechanisms and supporting infrastructures of the digitally convenient society is becoming increasing complex. How can we best protect our personal data in this reality? Sachiko draws onto an advice she was once given about parenting her youngsters. The Japanese Dr. Sachiko Scheuing is the Co-Chair of the Brussels-based Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing (FEDMA). Alongside this, she is the European Privacy officer for Axicom, a foundation that provides data and technology for marketing purposes. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of marketing intelligence, and as a former chief analyst, Sachiko combines theoretical and practical experience to manage Acxiom’s European data ethics programs, government affairs, and compliance activities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
