For 2017, growth in sub-Saharan Africa is expected to improve with an overall forecast growth rate of 2.9 per cent, which is slightly above the global growth rate of 2.7 per cent. Rwanda’s economic growth rate is expected to grow at the rate of 7.5 per cent in 2017 despite a depreciating currency, frail commodity prices and liquidity pressures.
