Philadelphia has had a record amount of snowfall this year. These scenes were recorded the first day the Zoo was open after being closed three days due to a second storm that dumped 28 inches of snow on the Philadelphia area just a few days after a storm that dumped 20 inches on the area. Notice how well the visitor pathways were cleared. And how beautiful everything looks. Some of the animals were outside enjoying the snow. Others were inside, cozy and warm. Unfortunately, as you can see, the Pavilion, where many special events were held, was crushed by the weight of the snow.
