Fall colors and FPV drone crash Oct 10 2015

I just added live first person video capability to my quadcopter, and it didn't go well. I decided to fly over the trees to my house which was going fine, but then I turned the drone to face away from me so I'd be more familiar with the controls, but then lost track of which way the drone was facing. I found out the hard way that live looks different from up high and it isn't always easy to figure out which way you're facing flying over the woods. I finally cut the power and crashed the drone. I was very fortunate that a group of hunters about 1300 feet away from me saw the crash, collected the parts, and had it waiting for me when I drove by looking for it.
