After three years of trying I am finally able to get my (my lab's really) Continuum PY61C pulsed, modelocked, cavity dumped IR (1064nm) laser to be stable enough so that the intracavity scattering measurements (which are used to determine the laser's stability) look reminiscent of when the cavity dumping Pockel Cells are not being used.

Now, I am much closer to my dream of seeing the slow scope as steady during cavity dumping as it is when the laser is not cavity dumping.

P.S. Yes, I used bits and pieces of the theme from Babylon 5 for the background. I love the excitement and purpose juxtaposed with tranquility and combined with a kind of nostalgic longing for a feeling that is lonely and familiar as that was my mood when I realized I was closer to the stability dream, had reached a goal I had set three years ago, and had set a personal best.
