This is the first of a new series of community-focused lectures, discussions, and dialogues, the "Reconsidering. . . ." series. This particular discussion focused on the events, conflicts, protests, and background summed up under the term "Ferguson". Abdou Gaye and Greg Sadler were the main speakers, with Andi Sciacca as the moderator. "Sojourner Truth - Human Rights Activist and Preacher" (Gaye) "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Just and Unjust Law" (Sadler) "Reconsidering. . ." is a new monthly conversation series, hosted by two Kingston Library discussion group leaders, featuring subject matter experts in a variety of fields and disciplines, and moderated by an experienced educator and speaker. Each session presents an issue in contemporary social or political discourse, provides context, and explores the topic within historical frameworks. No advanced reading or registration required. Topics will change monthly.
