While some people do extreme sports, Moira Deslandes is an extreme pilgrim, exploring and journeying across spiritual terrain with all its ups and downs and navigational challenges. Trained as a social worker, Moira is committed to building the connections and solutions between private pain and public policy. She has worked in a diversity of paid and voluntary leadership roles from direct services to being a Chief of Staff in Government, and a CEO of a state-wide and an international organisation. In this talk she tells us a story of the flip side of exploration, what it means to stop, to resign, and the power in that discovery.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
