He responds to Van Gogh's letter of 3 or 4 June 1888 in which he describes subtle transformations: the sea changing colour and stars becoming precious stones. Under special conditions of light and time, mysterious worlds appear. What do Vincent van Gogh’s ideas and insights mean to artists today? In the exhibition 'When I Give, I Give Myself', 23 contemporary artists respond to letters written by Van Gogh. The exhibition is on view at the Van Gogh Museum from 20 May 2015 until 17 January 2016.
