Here is the Division 2 Boys 400 Meter Dash from the 2018 CIF (Southern Section) Track and Field Finals meet held on May 19, 2018 at El Camino College in Torrance, California.

Commentary: Southern Section Champ Matthew Okonkwo shows what is possible when you pick the right event and focus. He entered 2018 with a 51.28 PR and immediately breaks 48. His career PR will come the following week at Masters (47.47) and he will run close to that at State, where he places 4th. Another fine example of how you close a senior season. Sophomore Caine Savage nearly stayed with Okonkwo in this one and makes PR. His final soph race. Looking forward to seeing more of him in 2019. Two other seniors finish their high school careers with PRs - Leon Ho and Davonte Williams.

Top 5 Individuals:
1 Matthew Okonkwo 12 Murrieta Mesa 48.34
2 Caine Savage 10 Western 48.98
3 Leon Ho 12 Rowland 49.25
4 Davonte Williams 12 Murrieta Mesa 49.54
5 Malcolm Overbaugh 12 Northwood 49.64
