Channel: The Heartland Institute · 2013 · Education
Education in the U.S. has been underperforming and over-spending for decades. American students perform poorly compared to their counterparts in other countries, despite the fact that per-pupil spending in the U.S. is far higher. Each year more and more states are expanding school choice through increased access to charter schools, vouchers, education savings accounts, parent triggers, and tax credits. This panel also talked about the Common Core and help lawmakers better understand what it is and what it isn't.
Moderator: Chip Rogers, Former Georgia State Senator
Jamie Lord, American Federation For Children
Eric Cochling, Georgia Center for Opportunity
John Deberry, Tennessee State Representative
