Interview with director John Boorman about 'Beyond Rangoon' (1995). More interesting than usual junket interviews. He is asked whether he is particularly drawn or attracted to foreign cultures. He says he likes making stories about people being thrown into alien environments. He comments on how he found English society repressive after returning from America. He finds conflict between two cultures interesting. Says the aristocracy and royalty are idiotic things.
