Series of marches taken out on Delhi University campus; Gurmehar Kaur withdraws from protests; Delhi Police register case against rape threats to her

Even as a series of marches were taken out on Tuesday on the Delhi University campus in protest against the violence at the Ramjas College last week and Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur, who protested against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), withdrew herself in the morning from the protests, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)  issued a notice to Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on the alleged police excesses against students and journalists outside the college on February 22. 

A march was called under a ‘Fight Back DU’ campaign from the Khalsa College to the Arts faculty against “gundagardi”.

On Monday, members of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), led by the ABVP, took out a ‘tiranga march’ from the Ramjas College to the Vivekanand Statue at the Arts faculty.
