Do you enjoy your comfort zones? Who wouldn't? Who doesn't want to be comfortable in this world? With all our headaches and aggravations, don't we deserve a few moments of respite? Yet, are we at our best and truly happy when we remain in our comfort zones? As appealing as it may sound, can we be satisified with animal bliss? The human spirit by its very nature aspires for more. Which is more comfortable: To remain trapped in an old pattern, or to try something new? How then can we balance the two -- can we be comfortable while also achieving and growing?

The answer lies in plumbing one of the deepest paradoxes of life: The only way to grow is to get out of your comfort zone. All achievement, all true happiness is based on this principle: The healthiest and greatest comfort for a human being is when he or she is not comfortable. Yet there is discomfort and there is discomfort. Unhealthy discomfort is related to anxiety, insecurity and fear, often associated with low self esteem and a sense of desperation. Healthy discomfort, on the other hand, is a seasoned measure of angst that drives us to excel. It comes hand in hand with healthy self esteem, and is actually fed by our inner security which gives us the courage and comfort to take risks and aspire to greater heights. The challenge of life is finding just the right balance of being comfortable and secure with yourself and not settling in and getting stuck in your comfort zones.

In this week's Torah portion Abraham teaches us how to achieve this balance -- how to achieve "Lech Lecha," to break free from your past comfort zones and catapult yourself to unprecedented heights.

Join Rabbi Jacobson as he analyzes Abraham's journey and discover the three different comfort zones that trap each of us from growing, together with practical methods that can help free us from these traps. Join us for a fascinating experience that will open up new doors and opportunities. Learn the biggest secret and paradox of life: To grow and truly be comfortable you have to get out of your comfort zone!

Are you comfortable and courageous enough to get out of your comfort zone?
