STANISLAUS COUNTY, California - The family of the fallen Newman Police officer is on their way back from vacation after learning their 33-year-old beloved relative was killed in the line of duty. Ronil Singh's parents and brother are catching a plane back from Fiji, a vacation cut short after his senseless murder. Singh was the eldest of two, as well as a father and husband. His uncle says Singh had just gone crabbing this past weekend, and that he loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. A native of Fiji, Singh joined the Newman Police Department back in 2011. Before that he was a deputy with the Merced County Sheriff's Office. Since the deadly shooting early Wednesday morning, there's been an outpouring of love and support from the Newman community as well as several law enforcement agencies. Singh's uncle, Ugesh, says his nephew lived life to the fullest and was the perfect family man. "If a person, a man can be a good son, a good brother, a good husband, a father, he was all of that," he says. Adding, "Not only that, he was a good son-in-law as well. I just can't believe we lost him. We lost someone who was a leader for our family's next generation." And many have seen the photo of officer Singh and his K-9 partner Sam. They had a precious bond, and sadly, Sam could not get out of he police car when Singh was shot. If you'd like to help the Singh family, there's a GoFundMe page.
