JCole born Jermaine Lamarr Cole (January 1985) is an American hip hop recording artist and producer. JCole's rise to fame began in 2007 shortly after the release of his mixtape titled 'The Come Up'. The release and impact of this mixtape prompted Jay Z to contact JCole and subsequently signed Cole to his Roc Nation record label by 2009. In 2009, JCole also released a follow up mixtape titled 'The Warm Up' followed by his third release titled 'Friday Night Lights' in 2010.  

In 2001, JCole went on to release his debut album titled 'Cole World:The Sideline Story' which debut at number one on the Us Billboard 200, Top R&B Albums and the Top Rap Albums chart having sold more than 218,000 copies in just its first week of its release. The success of this debut album also earned JCole a grammy nomination for Best New Artist. His second album titled 'Born Sinner', released in 2013. It debut at number 2 on the Billboard 200 but would later rise to the number 1 spot. His third studio album titled 'Forest Hills Drive' released in late 2014 and debut at number one on the Billboard 200. Forest Hill was so successful that it earned JCole platinum certification and he went on to become the first rapper to go platinum in 25 years without any album featured acts.
