From the introduction, you might think this is an RPG, but it really is a 2D platformer for the good old Game Boy Advance. I'm left under the impression that a lot of people don't know about the Klonoa series and it's a shame, because it's good and it's also one of the few games to have remained a 2D platformer in our 3D gaming industry. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, the first game in the series released for the PlayStation, was considered 2.5D because of the 2D gameplay in a 3D rendered world. When they made the sequel for the PS2, they decided to keep a 2D gameplay, making it one of the really few 2D platformer for that console. One thing which I believe is unique to the series is the way to perform a double jump, you need to be holding an enemy and tap the jump button twice to do a double jump. If you're not holding an enemy, you can only perform one jump. It's a pretty decent series, you might want to give it a try, there's a remake of the first game coming out for the Wii in Japan on December 4, 2008, let's hope it's released in America and Europe.
