Hope you like this, I don't have Minecraft, but I managed to make a video anyway with a different 3d software. The idea is based on what you liked best and the fact that you will need "pause and maintenance" areas. Basically dark wood platforms with vines as ladders to make them "selfbuilding", and netherrack corners with flames on top. It's not to make the whole track, but might be a good add every 100 blocks maybe.
