Congress Pressured to Ratify Nuclear Deal

This month, President Bush has sent the civilian nuclear agreement between India and the U.S. to Congress for approval. Both India and the Bush administration want the ratification before Congress adjourns for elections. India on its part has already procured approvals of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the 45 member Nuclear Suppliers Group -- a pre-condition for a Congressional vote.
