EU welcomes Greek parliament vote on austerity plan

European Commission vice-president Olli Rehn on Monday told journalists in a press conference in Brussels that the European Union "welcomes" the positive vote of the Greek Parliament on the austerity measures demanded for the approval of a second bail-out programme. "A disorderly default of Greece would be a much worse outcome with devastating consequences for the Greek society, especially the weaker members of the Greek society," 'Rehn said.
