Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun is the new MCA secretary-general, while Datuk Lee Chee Leong had been appointed the new treasurer-general of the party. Newly-minted MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong announced the appointment on Friday after the first MCA central committee meeting under the new leadership. He also announced the appointment of several positions in the MCA central committee, bureaus and state liaison committees, adding that there are currently more young leaders helming sub-committees and bureaus than veteran leaders. Dr Wee also said the party’s priority now is to stay in touch with the people and be a constructive opposition party.
