As part of my contribution to the 40th anniversary of the first manned moon landing, I have been blogging on behalf of Sir Phileas Fogg (the lead character of "Around the World in Eighty Days") who in 1884 is asked to be part of an international expedition (with his manservant Passepartout, and the president of the Baltimore Gun Club Mr. Impey Barbicane) to become the first men to leave the Earth in a modified bullet. This video is a simulation of the view as seen from the Columbiad as it leaves Stones' Hill in Florida at 5.22pm ET on October 4th 1884.
