I was somehow ready to witness a transitory inevitable experience I found a certain raw energy in these tribal people who may not be so 'Class' oriented like city crowd but this mass and their will to make everyday a grand celebration is actually class apart. They may not be eloquence but their cohesive nature can definately be a factor to learn from. 'KARAKHUTA AS BADNA PAROB' is the main and mentionable ritual among all. this takes place in the month of october. A bengali proverb states 'Baro mashe tero parbon' which reflects the paramount importance of festivals in an year but 'Mahato' community actually celebrates twice a time than the bengali proverb. Their residence and livlihood may not be furnished but their will to celebrate their lives are indeed mentionable. The pudding and pancakes which they make for celebrating their ritual,using diffrent meats,are way more innovative than our tasty pizzas. They worship cows and try to find God in every little living things. they are simple and introvert.they always put themselves into shells from violence.They struggle everyday to survive but they never let go their humanity regarding keep that stuggle going.they are tribal people and they auspiciously live their every rituals.I witnessed their celebration of life and it was a wise decision to frame that for show casing "THE RITUAL OF MAHATO" And this brings a satisfaction when I get to notice my choice of initiative to potray rituals of mahato on screen has been appreaciated by " LA SHOTS FEST" "CHICAGO FRENCH FILM FEST" "ATLANTA FILM FEST" "WHITE SANDS FILM FEST" & "USA FILM FEST" 2013 DIRECTED/VFXED/DI/SOUND/CONCEIVED/EDITED BY: Souradeepta Chowdhury Souradeepta Chowdhury an Indie Film Maker WRITTEN BY: Saumitra Chowdhury SUB TITLED BY: shreya sengupta Rockrulz studio Rockrulz production
