Malayalam magazine Grihalakshmi which recently in talks for its cover where a woman was breastfeeding a baby was slapped with a case where Petitioner Felix contended that magazine cover released in March violated a provision of POCSO act as well as section 45 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The case was filed under advocate Vinod Mathew at CJM court in Kollam against the publishers and also the model on the cover identified as Gilu Joseph in March this year. Recently, the Kerala High court squashed the plea and refused to categorise it as ‘obscene.’ The cover which released in March sparked debates over the cover where the headline read, “Mothers tell Kerala, please don't stare, we need to breastfeed.”
