Vintage style jewelry making techniques with http://www.bsueboutiques.com using unique historical brass stampings made in the United States. Many of these stampings are hollow-backed. Some find this a design challenge, so in this video B'sue demonstrates how you can fill the backs with polymer clay, then insert wire or eyepins to make hanging holes. She teaches how to fill the stamping appropriately and then add the wire, and how to continue to add clay until the wire is buried and only the hanging hole remains, then bake the clay (we used PREMO) at 275 for 50 min to an hour. Also discussed is how you must finish the brass on the front with possibly a different sealant than on the back. Matte spray lacquers must not be used on polymer clay unless they are expressly made for use on polymer clay; few are. Suggestions are made for sealants. You will come away with so many new ideas and ways to improve upon this one! You'll take your use of our brass stampings at B'sue Boutiques to a whole new level, artistically.
