(1 Dec 2018) After tense negotiations, Argentina's President Mauricio Macri announced that the countries making up the G20 reached a consensus in Argentina on world trade and climate change on Saturday. The summit's agenda was largely dominated by the controversy surrounding Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman over the murder of a Washington Post reporter, the growing tension between Russia and Ukraine, and by the US-China trade war. "I would say that precisely the tension between the United States and China in the last months is part of the changes taking place in the markets, turning from financing well-inclined towards emergent markets, to a very restrictive one, and that, along with the drought, was the beginning of all the problems we Argentinians have suffered."said Mauricio Macri at a news conference after the G20. Later on Saturday, President Trump is expected to have dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping, a meeting the world's eyes will be focused on after the mutual imposition of tariffs on imports that have begun to affect the world economy.
