Run to your petpets to pick them up and then to the opening in the pen in the center of the screen to deposit them. Press the space key to release them and arrow keys to move. In the beginning levels you get these white warp pads that transport you to the other side just like Pacman. As the levels get higher, your options of where you deposit the petpets decreases, since the openings disappear each level until the only one left is the opening closest to where Balthazar appears, so you have to be quick to get the petpets closest to the opening before Balthazar eats them or you! Petpets with the star halo over their heads give you bonuses when you put them into the pen. You also get a bonus for getting all the petpets in the level into the pen. When you are at the last petpet, you can pick that petpet up and Balthazar will give up, head slightly right of the top left corner of the screen and have a seizure for some reason. This will give you a breather and you can just stand there for as long as you want. My advice is to stand next to the leftmost opening in the pen so any petpets that spawn close to where Balthazar appears can be grabbed right away and stored into the pen before he can eat them and also in the later levels where it's the only opening so that you can grab the closest petpets and stuff them into the pen as fast as you can before Balthazar gets to a big enough gathering of your petpets and eats them all, causing you to lose all three of your lives.
